Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and RFCs and develop efficient software designs.
- Contribute to software architecture, infrastructure performance, testing, reliability, and future product direction.
- Design, develop, test, integrate, document, and support software functionality for satellite-system components and related environments.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, embedded, application, and test engineers on design and validation.
- Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide technical resolutions.
- Develop and optimize real-time signal-processing, fixed-point DSP, and digital communications algorithms.
- Integrate DSP-based PHY implementations with MAC/control software, FPGA interfaces, higher-layer software, and embedded processors.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, a related subject, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of hands-on C/C++ software development experience.
- Experience developing PHY-MAC control-plane software on embedded ARM/Linux or x86 platforms.
- Hands-on experience with programmable DSP processors, SIMD/vectorization, DSP optimization, fixed-point algorithms, profiling, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Experience partitioning communications or PHY functionality across FPGA fabric, programmable DSP processors, and embedded ARM processors is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with 5G NR/5G NTN MAC and PHY-MAC interactions, 3GPP standards, and 5G architecture is desired.
- Experience with real-time embedded issues including threading, memory management, interrupt handling, and multi-core or multi-CPU environments.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, sockets programming, object-oriented design and programming, software development lifecycle practices, UML, and maintainable software development.
- Experience with GDB, Valgrind, version control systems such as Git, Jira, Jenkins, unit and integration testing, test automation, CI/CD pipelines, shell scripting, or Python.
- Strong communication, presentation, documentation, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, self-motivation, and technical leadership skills.
- Experience with satellite or terrestrial communications systems and cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure is desired.
