Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and senior backend engineers in a cross-functional squad.
- Design backend services and independently implement high-volume, scalable TypeScript data-processing solutions for fraud detection.
- Build and maintain secure, distributed cloud services in an event-driven microservices architecture.
- Participate throughout the development lifecycle, including technical grooming, architecture discussions, deployment, monitoring, and production maintenance.
- Take user stories and technical specifications through implementation and production release while increasing autonomy.
- Participate in code reviews and apply architectural feedback to improve code quality, stability, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Practical experience building and maintaining event-driven and microservice architectures, preferably with Serverless Framework.
- Proficiency with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Docker, and container orchestration platforms including ECS or Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, with a strong preference for Claude Code.
- Ability to independently take technical work from inception through production, resolve blockers, and work with increasing self-direction.
- Willingness to learn from and pair with senior team members, apply architectural guidance, and address ambiguous technical challenges collaboratively.
