Responsibilities
- Design and develop application functionality and customize existing applications to meet business requirements.
- Create maintainable, well-documented, standardized, performant, and robust enterprise software.
- Define and streamline application requirements with business analysts, business representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Perform gap analysis, propose functionality options, and create proofs of concept or prototypes when needed.
- Contribute to application technical design and database/data-model design.
- Identify coding patterns and anti-patterns and enforce implementation quality through code reviews.
- Resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis and performance tuning, and support business users.
- Upgrade software, remediate security vulnerabilities, replace end-of-life components, modernize the technology stack, and update third-party protocols.
- Deliver single sign-on, cyber-vulnerability remediation, product integrations, and end-of-life re-platforming with support from other teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant hands-on software development experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and good knowledge of Linux development tools.
- Proficiency in relational database concepts and SQL.
- Experience with Python is a plus.
- Strong development practices including debugging, testing, unit testing, continuous integration, refactoring, and clean code.
- Good understanding of design patterns and object-oriented design.
- Experience developing REST web services in Java is a plus.
- Knowledge of Spring, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot is a plus.
- Experience with Jenkins, Subversion, and Git.
- Ability to interpret and troubleshoot applications using logs.
- Ability to work with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
