Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues across large-scale, highly available systems.
- Analyze performance data, characterize application behavior, identify bottlenecks, and build simulations to validate findings.
- Advise development teams and Technical Architects on database design, SQL performance, scalability, and technical solutions.
- Explain complex performance findings to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Test proof-of-concept products and help ensure software quality, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with the cloud solutions team on its minimum viable product and launch.
- Consult with and educate internal development teams on database performance.
Requirements
- Solid experience with 100TB+ highly available, high-transaction databases.
- MySQL experience is required; Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server experience is a plus.
- Experience with cloud databases on AWS or Azure.
- Deep knowledge of database fundamentals, database architectures, and SQL code performance review and optimization.
- Familiarity with standard-edition tools for performance measurement, analysis, and optimization.
- Experience developing tools and methodologies to isolate performance issues.
- Ability to coordinate, plan, and manage complex technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex subjects to broad technical audiences.
- Experience with ML, LLM, and AI concepts and their impact on database performance and data architecture in high-transaction environments.
- Must be located within commuting distance of the Kraków office.
