Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and integration of full-stack robotics systems across perception, planning/control, and hardware subsystems.
- Define system requirements, interfaces, and data contracts between perception ML and planning/control teams.
- Design and implement robotics control orchestration using Groot and ROS2, including maintainable behavior trees for robot autonomy.
- Own robotics software infrastructure including drivers, ROS/ROS2 middleware, simulation environments, and system-level tooling.
- Integrate robotics systems with Coupang WMS and operational workflows through APIs and data models.
- Build, deploy, debug, and maintain production-quality robotics software across hardware and software boundaries.
- Develop simulation, testing, and validation workflows covering safety, robustness, latency, repeatability, and task success.
- Own deployment pipelines, containerization, edge compute optimization, monitoring, observability, alerting, and system performance metrics.
- Define and track SLAs/SLOs for latency, throughput, availability, and accuracy.
- Contribute to roadmaps, architecture decisions, code reviews, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on robotics systems engineering experience with progression in scope and ownership.
- Deep proficiency in Python for real-time and systems-level robotics development.
- Demonstrated experience integrating cameras, sensors, PLCs, and other hardware peripherals into production robotics systems.
- Strong experience with the ROS/ROS2 ecosystem, including custom message types, services, nodes, and lifecycle management.
- Experience integrating and debugging complete robotic systems across software, sensors, actuators, middleware, simulation, and hardware.
- Real-world industrial robotics experience in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, inspection, service, or comparable operational environments.
- Experience with edge AI inference pipelines and GPUs is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Triton, vLLM, GPU-accelerated planning, differentiable optimization, sampling-based planning, model predictive control, whole-body control, or real-time trajectory generation.
- Understanding of computer vision and perception system requirements is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker, containerized deployments, CI/CD systems, and DevOps practices for robotics is preferred.
- Experience with warehouse automation, industrial robotics, logistics environments, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or distributed tracing is preferred.
