Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex enterprise-scale Java applications and backend or full-stack features.
- Lead technical direction for modules and subsystems while remaining actively involved in implementation.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java systems toward modular, microservices-based, and cloud-ready architectures.
- Design RESTful APIs, backend services, data models, and API-, file-, and message-based integrations.
- Support Angular and React frontend teams with robust backend APIs.
- Implement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, automated testing, and SonarQube static analysis.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global teams on end-to-end delivery.
- Provide technical mentoring and guidance to engineers across teams.
Requirements
- MCA or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 6–8 years of hands-on Java-based software development experience on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring or Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SQL, Angular, React, and MongoDB.
- Experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Strong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Knowledge of performance profiling, memory analysis, Hibernate or JPA, transaction management, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with API-based, file-based, and message-based integrations; Azure Service Bus experience is relevant.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud-native development, Azure DevOps, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
- Understanding of Maven or Gradle for build and dependency management.
- Experience with product development environments and Product Development Lifecycle practices.
- Strong understanding of Lean Agile or Scrum practices and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with shipping or logistics workflows or scientific data processing is a plus.
