Base Salary
$95k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own enterprise AI platform capabilities from design and implementation through production operation and on-call support.
- Build and operate AI gateways, policy engines, identity fabrics, registries, observability and audit pipelines, guardrails, and governance workflows.
- Develop performant APIs, interfaces, integrations, policy enforcement, identity attestation, audit capabilities, and runtime evidence.
- Engineer for SLOs, latency budgets, resilience, failure modes, operability, and regulatory defensibility.
- Assess emerging AI infrastructure, foundation-model access patterns, and standards while making cost-aware engineering decisions.
- Set engineering standards, review designs and code, mentor teammates, and collaborate across engineering, security, architecture, and domain teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 8 years of software or platform engineering experience for the Principal level, or at least 5 years for the Senior level, including substantial shared-platform experience at enterprise scale.
- Experience operating production infrastructure with real SLOs and on-call ownership, preferably in a regulated or financial-services environment.
- Strong distributed-systems and platform-engineering fundamentals, including latency-sensitive paths, resilience, multi-tenancy, and high availability.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Go preferred; TypeScript and Java are assets.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture across AWS and Azure, containers or Kubernetes, service mesh, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps, and DevSecOps.
- Depth in one or more of API gateways, policy-as-code, authorization, workload identity, zero trust, observability, telemetry, audit platforms, registries, or governance workflows.
- Working knowledge of GenAI platform patterns, LLM or AI gateways, RAG, agentic systems, foundation models, embeddings, and guardrails.
- Familiarity with Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, SageMaker, MLflow, LangChain, or LlamaIndex, plus responsible AI, privacy, cloud security, and IAM concepts.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Solutions Architect or ML Specialty, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure AI Engineer Associate, security or identity certifications, Databricks or Google Cloud ML credentials, and relevant GenAI or LLM credentials.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and ambiguity-management skills.
