Responsibilities
- Design and build acquiring capabilities covering authorization, clearing, and settlement processing.
- Develop production APIs, data models, and services for the acquiring platform.
- Build reporting, back-office, and operational tools for day-to-day acquiring operations.
- Ensure systems meet card-scheme, security, and compliance requirements.
- Create observability, monitoring, and incident-response foundations for an always-on payments platform.
- Collaborate with Processing, Reconciliation, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Treasury teams.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and own medium-to-large technical initiatives spanning multiple teams.
- Identify and prioritize technical debt, operational risks, and platform improvements.
- Mentor teammates and contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and on-call practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on Go experience.
- Experience building and consuming APIs in production environments.
- Understanding of software architecture, design principles, data modeling, API design, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; PostgreSQL and Kafka experience is valuable.
- Practical experience with Docker, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- A DevOps mindset and interest in building, operating, and improving owned systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to investigating complex issues.
- Collaborative working style, openness to feedback, ownership, and accountability.
- Experience with Elixir or another functional programming language is advantageous.
- Experience with AWS Prometheus and Grafana is advantageous.
- Fintech, payments, or other regulated-domain experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of card schemes, acquiring, authorization, clearing, or settlement is advantageous.
