Base Salary

$113k - $254k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer, product, and business requirements into detailed technical designs.
  • Design service, product, and platform solutions aligned with enterprise strategy and operational needs.
  • Define interfaces, service boundaries, data contracts, and integration patterns while developing high-quality code.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows for discovery, design, development, testing, documentation, refactoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Validate AI-generated output for correctness, security, maintainability, performance, licensing, and architectural alignment.
  • Maintain test infrastructure and apply automated testing, regression validation, and quality gates.
  • Optimize, refactor, simplify, and reuse code across multiple codebases.
  • Lead code reviews, resolve root causes, and address production performance, reliability, scalability, availability, and operational issues.
  • Create architectural, technical, operational, and decision documentation.
  • Design and implement secure programming practices and remediate application vulnerabilities.
  • Estimate cross-project work, dependencies, risks, resources, and sequencing.
  • Propose technologies, frameworks, automation opportunities, engineering practices, and agentic tooling patterns.
  • Mentor and coach software engineers and improve engineering lifecycle practices across teams.
  • Drive collaboration, communicate technical tradeoffs to stakeholders, and improve team productivity through automation and shared practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience developing, implementing, and supporting commercial software across multiple platforms and programming languages.
  • 8+ years of experience with modern development languages such as .NET Core, C#, TypeScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience owning and delivering projects of increasing technical complexity.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools, coding assistants, or agentic engineering workflows and validating their output before production use.
  • Experience with relational database objects, schema design, stored procedures, query tuning, performance analysis, and optimization.
  • Experience with non-relational databases such as MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos DB, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with APIs, service contracts, and distributed-system integration patterns.
  • Experience with unit, integration, acceptance, regression, and automated testing.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar version-control platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications and services on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of secure development, code quality, maintainability, observability, and operational ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or another technology-related field, or 4 years of equivalent work experience plus a high school diploma/GED.
  • Preferred experience includes enterprise or open-source software, system integration, global or distributed projects, data streaming, Kafka, event-driven architecture, ESB, automation, AI coding-agent prompts and guardrails, legacy modernization, and technical debt reduction.
  • Preferred qualifications include mentoring or leading engineering teams, cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, and balancing speed, quality, risk, security, maintainability, and business value.
