Responsibilities
- Build and operate backend systems for Close’s CRM, agentic AI platform, communications infrastructure, growth systems, and customer-facing product features.
- Develop and maintain Python Flask web applications, asynchronous task processing, APIs, data services, and production infrastructure.
- Ship LLM-backed features and AI agents, including retrieval, orchestration, integrations, and agent infrastructure.
- Design and evolve internet-facing APIs for applications, AI agents, integrations, and human users.
- Debug production incidents, meet latency budgets, and own systems with significant customer impact.
- Collaborate across teams and adapt to changing business needs, with opportunities to work on multiple projects over time.
Requirements
- Be a seasoned software engineer with strong backend experience; Python is the primary language, with experience in Go, Rust, or TypeScript also relevant.
- Have shipped LLM-backed features for real users and understand their reliability, limitations, and production-readiness requirements.
- Have experience designing internet-facing APIs and choosing appropriate technologies for different problems.
- Have owned business-critical systems, handled production incidents, worked with latency constraints, or participated in on-call responsibilities.
- Be able to collaborate and self-direct while working as a builder who delivers iterative features.
- Preferred experience includes Pydantic, Temporal, LangFuse, and modern AI infrastructure tooling.
