Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical architecture of Billing’s extensibility platform.
- Identify high-leverage extension points across Stripe's billing system.
- Own end-to-end technical solutioning for complex problems.
- Build resilient systems that handle failures gracefully.
- Drive adoption of Billing's extension capabilities by customers and internal teams.
- Collaborate with Billing leadership and product managers to execute the technical roadmap.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and collaboration.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading large projects.
- Experience as a technical lead on a team building external-facing products.
- Deep knowledge of software architecture, including distributed systems.
- Ability to build alignment and drive initiatives across organizational boundaries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
