Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, and support high-performance Java-based software solutions.
- Define application requirements and implement complex applications, integrations, interfaces, and mappings using enterprise middleware or messaging products.
- Ensure application code quality, development-standard alignment, performance, and production readiness.
- Perform code reviews, research domain-specific tools, and provide functional guidance, training, and mentoring to other developers.
- Communicate domain-level direction through group-wide and external public speaking and other communications.
- Validate and integrate AI-assisted development workflows into requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, quality gates, observability, and cloud-native deployment.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Java JDK 17 or greater.
- Knowledge of Tomcat, Spring, Spring Boot, Shell Scripting, and JSON.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration solutions.
- Expertise with JUnit or other automated unit testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and principles, including Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven.
- Experience with source control management and multi-developer codebases.
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, AGENTS.md, custom skills, sub-agents, prompt patterns, context management, agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, tool integration, human-in-the-loop controls, LLM evaluation, guardrails, and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to assess AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, quality, maintainability, compliance, and production readiness.
- Advanced understanding of modern software engineering concepts, coding quality, and best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, motivation, teamwork, and interest in mentoring junior developers.
- Experience with a UI framework such as Angular is a plus.
