Responsibilities
- Design and build features using Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, AWS, Azure, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes.
- Break complex requirements into modular engineering tasks and participate in estimation for medium- to large-sized initiatives.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, timelines, dependencies, and risks to engineering and product leadership.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Security, Infrastructure, and other internal stakeholders while advocating for technical roadmaps.
- Implement identity protocols and open standards including OpenID Connect, OAuth, and SAML.
- Maintain and operate services at large scale and participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
- Foster technical excellence and collaborative ownership.
Requirements
- Practical experience with Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
- Experience building highly reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems.
- Thorough understanding of application security and cloud security best practices.
- Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Track record of influencing engineering strategy and completing complex, multi-quarter projects across organizational boundaries.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and execution skills.
- Enthusiasm for or experience with identity protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
- Extra credit for security engineering and application security knowledge, or architecture experience across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.

- Annual base salary range of $110,000—$151,800 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
