Responsibilities

  • Implement and extend core rendering pipelines, shading systems, and visual effects tools for multiple target hardware environments.
  • Work with graphics abstraction layers and modular subsystems to adapt features and visual workloads across hardware configurations.
  • Collaborate with technical artists, art directors, gameplay engineers, and core engine teams to deliver performant real-time visual features.
  • Profile and optimize GPU and CPU utilization, frame budgets, memory usage, and other performance bottlenecks.
  • Write clean, reliable, and well-tested C++ code and participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and team discussions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience in real-time graphics or rendering programming for games or high-performance interactive applications.
  • Experience with multi-platform rendering pipelines, hardware abstraction layers, or adaptable graphics codebases.
  • Working knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming, with hands-on experience writing and modifying HLSL shaders.
  • Familiarity with modern low-level graphics APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan, or platform graphics interfaces.
  • Experience using graphics profilers and debuggers such as PIX, RenderDoc, Nsight, or engine profilers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphics Programming, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as coding agents to prototype, accelerate execution, and automate workflows, with the ability to review and validate generated code.

  • British Columbia compensation range is CAD $104,500–$142,800 per year, depending on location and other factors.
