Responsibilities
- Own the big data infrastructure for the international platform and act as its technical lead.
- Deploy, upgrade, troubleshoot, and operate HDFS, Apache Ozone, Iceberg, and related platform services.
- Lead an infrastructure pilot involving many small tables derived from large datasets.
- Introduce compute and storage quotas for business units.
- Migrate from the default Iceberg catalog to Lakekeeper or Gravitino.
- Rebuild monitoring and alerting for meaningful operational signals.
- Collaborate with the engineer operating the parallel platform contour and provide mutual coverage.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and operating big data platforms.
- Hands-on experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting HDFS/Hadoop.
- Hands-on experience operating S3-compatible object storage; Apache Ozone is preferred, while MinIO or similar solutions are acceptable.
- Experience with Apache Iceberg.
- Experience setting up monitoring and alerting for data infrastructure.
- English proficiency at B2 level.
- Ability to work in the GMT+3 time zone, with up to three hours of difference.
- Preferred experience with Trino, Kafka, or Flink.
- Preferred experience with Iceberg REST catalogs such as Lakekeeper, Gravitino, or Polaris.
- Preferred experience setting up resource quotas and cost allocation in multi-tenant data platforms.
- Preferred hands-on use of AI tools such as Copilot or agents.
