Responsibilities
- Develop new features and products for Sovrn’s video advertising platform.
- Build scalable and performant systems within an agile feature team.
- Use JavaScript to deliver browser-side control code for video ad delivery.
- Adhere to VAST and VPAID specifications.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, including conducting code reviews.
- Facilitate daily stand-ups and act as Scrum Master for the feature team.
- Interact with modern database technologies and address product delivery in a SaaS environment.
- Work directly with business partners and communicate software design clearly.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of object-oriented browser-based programming experience.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, including ECMAScript 3 and later, HTML5, CSS, and legacy browsers.
- Familiarity with Java and relational databases.
- Understanding of design patterns and their consequences.
- Comfort with Unix operating systems and command-line environments.
- Experience using Git or other source code control systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source contributions, experience with NoSQL databases such as Hive, Hadoop, or Cassandra, ActionScript 3 experience, prior SaaS experience, and familiarity with advertising products and internet marketing.
