Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop customer identity journeys covering registration, sign-in, password reset, account recovery, MFA, and social login.
- Integrate services with Azure AD B2C/Microsoft Entra External ID and other customer identity platforms.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWTs, and token-based security.
- Build APIs and integrations for customer profiles, consent, newsletters, and related customer capabilities.
- Design for scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, secure data handling, and privacy.
- Own services across testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, implement durable improvements, review code, mentor colleagues, and communicate technical risks.
- Collaborate with security, architecture, product, engineering, and business stakeholders on CIAM strategy and delivery.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of relevant software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and operating backend services.
- Strong recent hands-on experience with Java 17+ and core Java concepts including object-oriented design, collections, exception handling, concurrency, and clean code.
- Practical experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices with Spring Boot and the wider Spring ecosystem.
- Meaningful customer identity and access management experience covering authentication, authorization, access control, identity journeys, profiles, consent, and personal-data protection.
- Experience with Azure AD B2C/Microsoft Entra External ID or a comparable CIAM platform, including user flows, policies, MFA, social identity providers, tokens, and backend integration.
- Good understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and token lifecycle management.
- Strong backend experience with API design, microservices, secure coding, databases, integrations, performance, reliability, and production support.
- Experience with cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes, automated build/test/deployment pipelines, and unit, integration, contract, security, and performance testing.
- Experience with observability practices including logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and production alerting.
- Preferred experience with Azure, event-driven systems, Azure Service Bus, CIAM migrations, Strivacity, consent or preference capabilities, and high-traffic e-commerce or digital platforms.
- Ability to collaborate globally, take ownership, explain technical trade-offs, mentor colleagues, and adapt to evolving identity technologies.
