Responsibilities
- Research, prototype, and develop solutions that innovate and improve Qualys' technology platform.
- Design and implement distributed, scalable, high-performance microservice-based applications.
- Build microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
- Connect microservices to relational and NoSQL databases.
- Work with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Identify and resolve software bugs.
- Apply software development life cycle practices and produce high-quality software with scalable architecture.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf and GitHub Copilot for coding, debugging, code review, prototyping, and faster delivery cycles.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Excellent programming and software design skills, including Spring Boot experience.
- Understanding of relational databases such as Oracle and NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.
- Professional experience with indexing technology such as Elasticsearch and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and application design.
- Experience with Continuous Delivery principles and related tools including Kubernetes, AKS, and Docker.
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants such as Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science.
