Base Salary
$104k - $166k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based reliability solutions, automation scripts, APIs, and SRE utilities in AWS.
- Build and optimize Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code for AWS resources and integrate Python-based workflows with cost-efficient designs.
- Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, custom metrics, and dashboards.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to support code quality, reliability, and rapid delivery.
- Define SRE standards, best practices, SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability engineering guidelines.
- Participate in incident management and on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, and reduce recurring incidents.
- Produce blameless postmortems, document failure scenarios, and track actionable improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile and Scaled Agile environments to deliver cloud automation solutions.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, or a high school diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience.
- At least 5 years of advanced Python development experience building enterprise-grade tools, APIs, and utilities for AWS.
- At least 7 years of software development experience focused on reliability and platform engineering.
- At least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience with services including EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudFormation, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
- At least 3 years of experience applying SRE principles such as observability, toil automation, SLIs, and SLOs.
- Expert-level Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code experience, including module development and state management.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Canary, SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, root-cause analysis, and postmortem documentation.
- Experience with Agile, Scaled Agile, ITSM processes, resilience testing, and chaos engineering; GoLang or other programming languages are preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field is preferred.
