Lead Software Engineer - Java/Python Backend
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and automation practices, including code review, refactoring, testing, and incident analysis.
- Establish standards for validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Identify and automate remediation of recurring application and system issues to improve operational stability.
- Lead evaluations of vendors, startups, and internal technologies for architectural fit and applicability.
- Coach engineers on safe, compliant, and responsible use of AI in engineering workflows.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 10+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced programming proficiency in Java and Python.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and advanced understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Platform engineering experience is preferred.
