Responsibilities
- Lead the ideation, development, and productionization of AI solutions for healthcare payer use cases.
- Design and implement AI models, algorithms, platform capabilities, MCP services, enterprise integrations, and production systems.
- Deploy and manage AI models in cloud environments while ensuring scalability, availability, performance, and reliability.
- Partner with product teams, business stakeholders, and internal lines of business to identify opportunities and translate workflows into AI-enabled solutions.
- Define and oversee AI model evaluation and validation frameworks covering accuracy, reliability, fairness, and performance.
- Research emerging AI advances and champion adoption of appropriate techniques and methodologies.
- Mentor junior engineers on AI development, model implementation, and system design.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in analytics, technology, software engineering, healthcare, or a related area, including academic experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, and preferably AI models such as LLMs or diffusion models.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale integrations, APIs, or platform services in a regulated environment.
- Experience with AI agents, MCP, tool calling, or comparable frameworks connecting AI systems to enterprise applications and data sources.
- Experience handling large, complex datasets and building sophisticated data science pipelines.
- Deep experience with machine learning, deep learning frameworks, natural language processing, and related libraries.
- Experience deploying and managing machine learning models in cloud environments; GCP Vertex AI is preferred, with AWS SageMaker or Azure ML accepted.
- Expert proficiency in Python and relevant data science or machine learning libraries.
- Strong systems architecture, technical leadership, project leadership, communication, stakeholder influence, and mentoring capabilities.
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant field such as computer science, AI, or machine learning is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.
