Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of high-volume, low-latency messaging services.
- Build and maintain Java-based microservices and distributed systems.
- Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
- Support cloud-native and multi-region deployments with a focus on availability, security, and performance.
- Develop messaging capabilities for Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS channels.
- Drive technical decisions, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system performance and reliability.
- Establish monitoring and observability practices.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams from development through production.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical planning and the platform technology roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
- 9–12 years of software engineering experience in enterprise product development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
- Proven experience developing microservices and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and event-driven systems.
- Experience with at least one public cloud platform, with GCP preferred.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to independently drive technical assignments through completion.
- Preferred experience with Python or Rust, multi-tenant SaaS products, and high-volume messaging platforms.
- Preferred knowledge of Email, SMS, WhatsApp, or RCS technologies and email delivery concepts such as routing, retries, bounce processing, suppression, and throttling.
- Preferred experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or OpenSearch.
- Preferred knowledge of Git, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
