Base Salary
$125k - $146k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale Go services for agent quoting, configuration, and application-submission tools.
- Own backend services end to end and resolve partner-specific edge cases as distribution volume grows.
- Design and contribute to versioned REST, gRPC, and OpenAPI APIs.
- Participate in architectural discussions and collaborate with the App and Checkout teams.
- Write unit and integration tests, review peer code, and maintain quality standards.
- Use Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI tools for coding, testing, debugging, and design while applying independent judgment.
- Support knowledge transfer through pairing and documentation, particularly within a team with a high contractor ratio.
- Follow and improve automation and CI/CD practices, and diagnose and resolve production issues.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional backend software development experience.
- Professional experience with Go and the ability to own services end to end.
- Experience with distributed systems or microservices and API design.
- Experience designing REST, gRPC, or OpenAPI APIs, including familiarity with Protocol Buffers.
- Experience using Docker for local development and CI/CD as a standard practice.
- Demonstrated daily professional use of AI tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
- Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, communicate technical tradeoffs clearly, and provide informal mentorship.
- Strong Go craftsmanship, system design, testing, debugging, production support, cross-team collaboration, and ownership skills.
