Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-traffic features and partner integrations across backend services, APIs, frontend, infrastructure, and databases
- Write production-ready, well-tested code and own unit, integration, and end-to-end test automation standards
- Own the operational quality, observability, and reliability of services, including SLOs, monitoring, alerting, and incident response readiness
- Ensure data integrity, secure engineering practices, and compliance-aware design for sensitive consumer, financial, and marketplace data
- Champion AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering workflows
- Drive project delivery by managing scope, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and scaling distributed systems and high-traffic consumer-facing products
- Proven depth across backend services, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, modern frontend frameworks such as React, and cloud/DevOps
- Strong experience with Node.js and microservice architectures
- Experience with search, marketplace, listing-based, or financial services products
- Experience owning production infrastructure, observability, SLOs, and incident management
- Ability to independently drive features from scoping through delivery in an agile, matrixed environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures including Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SQS/SNS
- Familiarity with data pipelines and technologies including Snowflake, S3, Aurora, and reverse ETL
- Experience deploying and operating services on AWS using Kubernetes and containerization
- Familiarity with federated GraphQL architecture
- Understanding of financial data sensitivity and compliance considerations, including RESPA and TILA
- Comfort working in a data- and metrics-driven engineering culture aligned with performance KPIs
