Responsibilities

  • Act as a recognised technical specialist and provide expert guidance within a defined software engineering discipline.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions supporting business outcomes and user value.
  • Apply and promote continuous integration, continuous delivery, automation, and quality engineering practices.
  • Own complex technical challenges and provide specialist support to delivery teams.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, solution designs, and technical decision-making.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering practices for Digital Automation products and platforms.
  • Create prototypes, proofs of concept, data models, integrations, configurations, and other technical artefacts.
  • Coach engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Formal qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Formal qualifications in a recognised specialist discipline or demonstrated expert-level experience in that area.
  • At least five years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
  • At least three years of experience in a defined specialist area such as cloud engineering, integration engineering, or API development.
  • Experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade software solutions.
  • Experience influencing technical decisions and driving adoption of engineering standards and good practices.
  • Expert knowledge of a defined software engineering discipline and strong knowledge of software engineering principles and practices.
  • Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, engineering quality attributes, and interactions across multiple technology domains.
  • Experience working within large and complex organisations is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and navigate uncertainty.
