Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, estimation, and delivery for complex Salesforce engagements.
- Partner with client business and technology stakeholders to define goals, constraints, processes, data, and enterprise architecture.
- Translate functional requirements into architecture diagrams, data models, integration specifications, security models, and implementation roadmaps.
- Serve as the technical authority for Salesforce platform design, custom development, integrations, data migration, release strategy, performance, and security.
- Lead, mentor, and guide Salesforce developers, administrators, QA resources, and technical leads, including design and code reviews.
- Remain hands-on with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, Flows, APIs, integrations, debugging, and production issue resolution.
- Design integrations between Salesforce and enterprise platforms using APIs, middleware, event-driven patterns, and synchronous or asynchronous processing.
- Define standards for scalability, maintainability, testability, security, CI/CD, source control, and environment management.
- Evaluate configuration, declarative automation, custom development, AppExchange solutions, and external services.
- Lead technical workstreams across discovery, design, build, test, deployment, hypercare, and optimization.
- Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, dependencies, estimates, and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Support presales solutioning, technical demos, estimation, statements of work, and client presentations.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of Salesforce experience with progression from Salesforce Developer or Senior Developer into a Technical Lead, Development Manager, Technical Architect, or equivalent senior consulting role.
- At least 3 years leading technical teams, delivery workstreams, or major Salesforce implementation programs.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, asynchronous Apex, REST/SOAP APIs, and Salesforce DX.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce security, sharing, role hierarchy, permission sets, profiles, identity and access considerations, and governance.
- Experience designing enterprise integrations, data migration approaches, API strategies, and error-handling or reconciliation processes.
- Experience with CI/CD, version control, automated testing, code quality practices, release management, and multi-environment deployment strategies.
- Experience designing for scale, performance, system limits, large data volumes, maintainability, and operational support.
- Consulting experience with direct client interaction, stakeholder management, technical workshops, requirements clarification, and executive communication.
- Experience leading distributed or cross-functional teams while balancing hands-on technical contribution with architecture and delivery leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical choices and trade-offs in business terms.
- Preferred: Salesforce certifications including Platform Developer I/II, Application Architect, System Architect, Integration Architect, Data Architect, Sharing & Visibility Architect, or Salesforce Certified Technical Architect.
- Preferred: Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service, Marketing Cloud, CPQ/Revenue Cloud, or Financial Services Cloud.
- Preferred: Experience with MuleSoft or comparable middleware or iPaaS platforms.
- Preferred: Background in Agile delivery, technical project estimation, enterprise architecture, managed services, or support environments.
- Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred: Experience in a consulting firm, Salesforce partner, systems integrator, or client-facing delivery organization.
