Base Salary
$102k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and operate Azure Monitor and observability products and services.
- Build telemetry pipelines, monitoring components, data collection agents, and platform infrastructure.
- Own feature areas from requirements through development and operational support.
- Improve reliability through automation, monitoring, alerting, testing, incident resolution, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with product management, partner teams, and service owners to deliver customer value.
- Participate in architecture and feature-design discussions, conduct code reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to engineering standards.
- Identify and address technical debt, modernization, and cost-efficiency opportunities.
- Use AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C, C++, or Rust, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience coding in C, C++, C#, or Rust, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated Rust experience is preferred.
- Experience with observability systems, telemetry pipelines, monitoring platforms, OpenTelemetry, or cloud-native infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud platforms, or large-scale data processing systems is preferred.
- Ability to pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
