Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly reliable distributed environments that enable rapid deployment and end-to-end verification of changes.
- Design, develop, and maintain engineering systems and infrastructure supporting reliable product development and release workflows.
- Troubleshoot issues across teams, identify root causes, and drive problems to resolution.
- Maintain and operate engineering systems and services for development teams and internal stakeholders.
- Define product requirements and technical designs with project managers and technical leads.
- Collaborate with, mentor, and influence engineers across Microsoft.
- Develop maintainable code with emphasis on security, reliability, diagnosability, and performance.
- Lead design discussions, own design decisions, and contribute to product vision, roadmap, architecture, and planning.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain service health.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field plus 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Preferred: master’s degree plus 6+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with infrastructure, engineering systems, deployments, and reliable environments supporting large-scale enterprise distributed systems.
- Preferred: proven delivery of reliable, scalable, and highly performant end-to-end solutions.
- Preferred: hands-on experience developing and managing scalable cloud services across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Preferred: strong communication skills and the ability to drive improvements across teams.
