Base Salary
$114k - $144k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop backend APIs and services in Python and Java, including performance engineering, logging, and telemetry.
- Apply machine-learning and data-science techniques such as forecasting models and deep meta-learning to improve forecast accuracy.
- Contribute to GenAI agent development for supply-chain planning use cases.
- Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend architecture for the retail-planning product.
- Integrate with ERP, inventory-management, and other external systems through robust APIs.
- Implement secure and efficient storage, retrieval, and processing of large retail datasets using SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Collaborate with QA to design testing frameworks and maintain code quality and engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot customer-reported backend issues, performance bottlenecks, and system-stability problems.
- Partner with stakeholders and customer/account management teams to translate requirements into product features.
- Use GitHub Copilot and other coding agents throughout the issue-to-reviewed-pull-request development workflow.
- Stay current with backend, cloud, AI/ML, and software-engineering trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably STEM.
- At least 6 years of software-development experience.
- Strong Python programming and backend-development skills.
- Strong AI/ML software-development experience, including forecasting and applied data science.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Apache Kafka, and Azure Event Hub.
- Understanding of virtualization and private, hybrid, and public cloud-computing concepts, with Azure preferred; familiarity with AWS and GCP is also relevant.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Snowflake, and other SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders and customer/account management teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, proactive learning, and teamwork skills.
