Responsibilities
- Provide technical consulting and implementation services to customers, including solution design, Rocket product deployment, proofs of concept, pilots, and technical analysis.
- Lead technical solution implementation teams and communicate project status, risks, requirements, and scope impacts to stakeholders.
- Advise customers on technical solutions, architectures, product versions, requirements, defects, and enhancements.
- Determine technical resource needs, coordinate with project managers, estimate new requirements, and obtain required approvals.
- Conduct or assign code reviews and deliver internal and external technical presentations and training.
- Support mainframe modernization, application migration, COBOL modernization, data modernization, automation pipelines, and DevOps tooling.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience with complex IT project implementations, customizations, or maintenance.
- Technical experience in at least two areas including IBM Enterprise COBOL or PL/I, IBM CICS, IMS, JCL, relational databases, Windows, Linux/UNIX, cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, or Cloud Foundry.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, customer service, and technical problem-solving skills, with fluent written and verbal English.
- Practical mainframe application modernization experience, including workload migration, automated code conversion, re-platforming, COBOL modernization, or data migration, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with test automation, test-driven development, continuous integration and delivery, DevOps, test data management, Agile tools, and automation pipelines.
- Experience with Rocket COBOL products such as Enterprise Developer, Visual COBOL, Enterprise Server, Server Express, or Net Express is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, additional mainframe languages, architecture certifications, and proficiency in another EU language are preferred.
