Base Salary

$230k - $280k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect and enhance HackerOne’s autonomous security agent Hai with natural-language reasoning, vulnerability detection, and actionable recommendations.
  • Build services integrating orchestration, memory systems, RAG, long-horizon tasks, and LLM-based models into the HackerOne platform.
  • Partner with Product, Security Research, and Engineering to introduce AI capabilities across the HackerOne ecosystem.
  • Design and implement AI red-teaming agents and frameworks to identify weaknesses in LLMs, generative-AI systems, and applied AI deployments.
  • Establish metrics, observability, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops to improve model performance, safety, and user impact.
  • Track AI safety research, adversarial-testing techniques, and agentic-system patterns and incorporate relevant learnings into responsible-AI strategy.
  • Build APIs and integrations connecting AI models, security tools, and the broader HackerOne platform with security, scalability, and interoperability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including deep experience building and maintaining production-grade AI platforms and infrastructure.
  • Production expertise with large language models, generative AI, and machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Transformers.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AI platform engineering, model deployment, MLOps pipelines, model-serving infrastructure, and shared AI services architecture.
  • Experience building systems that support multiple AI product teams and applications and enable scalable experimentation and deployment.
  • Understanding of AI safety and alignment, responsible AI development, bias mitigation, and ethical AI practices.
  • Preferred experience building AI development platforms, model registries, experimentation frameworks, and organizational AI innovation tools.
  • Preferred familiarity with ReAct, AutoGen, or Semantic Kernel; agent action routing; secure tool-usage APIs; autonomous-agent feedback loops; prompt engineering; fine-tuning; RAG; and LLM optimization.
  • Preferred experience with AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML, Docker, Kubernetes, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, React, and production web applications or APIs.
  • Must be able and willing to work onsite once per week, typically Thursdays, in or near Seattle, Boston, Washington, DC, or Austin.
