Responsibilities
- Design cloud deployment architectures on Azure alongside core development teams.
- Lead provisioning of deployment environments, including servers, services, networking, and communication with technical client stakeholders.
- Implement security, scalability, supportability, and performance in solution architectures.
- Build continuous integration and deployment pipelines and perform software releases where full automation is not yet available.
- Configure monitoring and alerting, integrate tools with support-desk software, and provide technical assistance with ticket triage and troubleshooting.
- Participate in business-hours incident response and shared after-hours on-call support, including diagnosis, remediation, reporting, mitigation, and client status communication.
- Design and implement continuous improvement and automation to reduce recurring support issues.
- Document system architecture and deployment processes with AI assistance and share technical knowledge across teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent.
- Comfort using AI to diagnose, script, automate, document, and work within an AI-assisted delivery pipeline.
- Expertise developing scalable web applications and some proficiency in Rust, Java, .NET, or Go.
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, ReactJS, AngularJS, or similar front-end frameworks.
- Proven scripting experience with PowerShell, Ruby, Python, shell, or other common scripting languages.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure deployment architectures, Microsoft DevOps deployment pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
- Experience administering Linux cloud-based server environments and troubleshooting and configuring virtual networks.
- Familiarity configuring New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring frameworks, including dashboards and alert integrations.
- AWS and Bamboo or Bitbucket Pipelines experience is advantageous.
- Ability to switch context across technologies, remain calm during high-priority incidents, verify AI-generated diagnoses, and continue learning.
- Applicants must be Auckland-based and able to attend the office three days per week, with additional attendance as required.
