Base Salary
$144k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design scheduling systems that allocate experiments, instruments, and compute across autonomous labs using durable Temporal workflows.
- Build the simulation and digital-twin data layer for predicting factory behavior before resources are committed.
- Develop Flyte pipelines, an S3 lakehouse, and PostgreSQL models that produce governed and trustworthy instrument data.
- Deliver batch and event-driven pipelines that provide clean data to scientists and models.
- Create customer-facing services for forecasting factory capacity.
- Operate reliable services on AWS EKS using Docker, ECR, Terraform, and GitHub Actions as the factory scales.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of back-end engineering experience building production services in Python and FastAPI at scale.
- Experience with data pipelines using a workflow orchestrator such as Flyte, Temporal, or a similar tool.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, object storage such as S3, and data lakehouse architectures.
- Experience delivering cloud-native systems with containers, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD, ideally using AWS EKS, Docker, ECR, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.
- Ability to own services from design through delivery, reliability, and iteration.
- Clear communication of technical tradeoffs to engineers, scientists, and business partners.
- Preferred experience includes regulated or safety- and quality-critical industries and standards such as 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+, GAMP 5, FDA CSA, or ISA-95.
- Preferred domain exposure includes robotics, lab automation, LIMS, or manufacturing/MES environments.
- Preferred experience includes scheduling, resource allocation, constraint or optimization problems, Ray, Weights & Biases, model serving, NATS, or MQTT.
