Base Salary
$96k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Understand functional requirements and collaborate with Business Systems Analysts to translate them into working software.
- Design, develop, test, enhance, and troubleshoot new and existing software applications.
- Develop front-end and back-end functionality, integrate web application interfaces with web services, and optimize SQL queries.
- Create UML diagrams and technical design documents using software engineering and object-oriented design principles.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Participate in code reviews, project meetings, status reporting, and software engineering process improvements.
- Identify and resolve technical or product problems and adopt relevant techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with team members, technical project leads, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver software solutions.
- Assist with mentoring and training less experienced IT staff members.
- Provide internal and external client support, including responding to service requests and managing difficult client situations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 2 years of subject matter expertise in the relevant areas.
- Excellent working knowledge of Angular and Java with the Spring framework.
- Experience with Bootstrap, CSS3, HTML5, jQuery, jQWidgets, responsive web design, JSON, and AJAX.
- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Experience developing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and Cursor.
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements and experience developing interfaces compliant with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.0.
- Experience with Git, Maven, CI tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, and Checkmarx, and IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or IntelliJ.
- Working experience with UNIX environments and shell scripting.
- Experience integrating web application front ends with back-end web services.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, prioritization, problem-solving, customer focus, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with pharmacy benefit manager and pharmaceutical practices is helpful.

- The position is fully on-site at the San Diego headquarters; remote work is not an option.
- No travel is required, although attendance at local conferences and meetings may be required.
