Base Salary
$124k - $226k/yr
Responsibilities
- Migrate frontend surfaces from a Ruby-on-Rails monolith to a microfrontend architecture.
- Build and launch product features for Scribd’s core document-reading experience and AI-enhanced research and study workflows.
- Create GraphQL APIs and build services in Node, Python, and Go.
- Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to improve document ingestion infrastructure.
- Partner with Design, Product, AI/ML, and Infrastructure teams to deliver user-centered features.
- Contribute to the shared design system and improve frontend infrastructure.
- Improve performance, accessibility, SEO, and answer-engine optimization.
- Monitor and maintain service health and respond to incidents.
Requirements
- 6+ years of full-stack development experience.
- Production experience building and shipping systems across the stack using React and Next.js or Ruby on Rails.
- Familiarity with maintaining services in a cloud environment, including monitoring service health and responding to incidents.
- Understanding of performance, accessibility, and SEO.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments.
- Commitment to clean, well-documented, maintainable, and extensible code.
- Experience with Node and Go is an additional preferred qualification.
