Responsibilities
- Design and develop container-based virtualization infrastructure for mobile communication systems.
- Integrate hardware, operating systems, virtualization infrastructure software, and third-party components.
- Build and operate Kubernetes clusters and troubleshoot components such as kubelet, etcd, and CNI.
- Develop automation tools, operators, and custom controllers.
- Automate infrastructure construction and perform performance tuning, debugging, and stability improvements.
- Implement functionality that enables stable and efficient delivery of Rakuten Mobile services.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Linux internals, including the kernel, system calls, network stack, and file systems.
- Experience building, operating, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning Kubernetes clusters.
- Deep knowledge of Docker, containerd, container isolation, namespaces, and cgroups.
- Programming experience with Go, Python, or Rust for automation tools, operators, and custom controllers.
- Experience automating tasks with Bash and shell scripts.
- Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Foundational networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls.
- Preferred: experience with eBPF, perf, or ftrace for Linux performance analysis and troubleshooting.
- Preferred: knowledge of distributed systems, distributed storage, and file systems such as Ceph, NFS, and iSCSI.
- Preferred: knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes security hardening.
- Preferred: experience contributing to open-source projects.
- Advanced English proficiency is preferred or required at the stated overall level.
