Base Salary
$148k - $264k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing observability services.
- Develop data capture, collection, ingestion, real-time processing, and batch processing systems across Kubernetes, OpenStack, bare-metal, and other infrastructure environments.
- Construct metrics ingestion pipelines, alert definitions, and automation for dashboard lifecycle management.
- Build and deploy infrastructure components in production and operate Workday in air-gapped U.S. AWS cloud regions.
- Champion observability data quality, integrity, and availability and evaluate new open-source and cloud-native tools.
- Participate in the observability platform on-call rotation.
- Partner with Federal Cyber Defense on security operations, cybersecurity posture, governance, risk, compliance, and platform security health.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong software engineering background with a record of delivering high-quality products at scale.
- Exceptional coding skills in Java and Python; Go is a plus.
- Understanding of high-performance data capture and collection systems, API design, reliable data delivery, time-series databases, and log collection and management.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux.
- 10+ years of experience building high-performance data ingestion software and addressing concurrency, latency, and efficiency challenges.
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible, Chef, and Terraform.
- Experience with the Prometheus ecosystem, Elasticsearch, Grafana, InfluxData, PromQL, InfluxQL, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Preferred DoD 8570/8140 compliance with at least IAT Level II certification, a current Computing Environment credential, and an approved specialty certification such as CompTIA CySA+, GICSP, or CASP+.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; active TS/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
