Base Salary
$85k - $193k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement air charge temperature estimation, turbocharger speed and boost pressure control, wastegate and bypass valve actuation, and compressor surge and overspeed protection algorithms.
- Develop and validate C software control algorithms for functional, emissions, performance, and functional safety requirements.
- Apply unit, SIL, MIL, and HIL testing methods to validate powertrain control software.
- Develop and maintain plant models for turbocharger dynamics, intake manifold thermodynamics, and charge air cooler systems.
- Troubleshoot vehicle and powertrain air-path functional and diagnostic issues through data analysis, vehicle testing, and simulation.
- Maintain software descriptions, calibration guides, release notes, and requirements traceability.
- Lead control-system project planning and program management across multiple vehicle programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, or a related field, or foreign-equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- At least 2 years of experience in C software development for automotive powertrain systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, turbocharger or supercharger boost-control experience, air-charge management knowledge, intake-manifold or charge-air-cooler modeling experience, and OBD-II diagnostic monitoring familiarity.
- Preferred knowledge includes ISO 26262 Part 6, MISRA-C coding standards, and tools such as Jira, Jama, Unity/Ceedling, GitHub, and ClearCase.
- Preferred experience includes embedded control software and design experience, including 5 or more years of experience, and familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework.
