Base Salary
$149k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with Product and Business teams to understand business implications and user flows for sign-up and user account management.
- Design and develop a future-proof API layer exposing commerce lifecycle platform capabilities to multiple clients.
- Review and develop robust API contracts and scalable microservices for internal clients.
- Create technical proposals describing high-level designs and system flows between clients and backend systems.
- Understand dependencies among subscription, billing, payment, and client systems.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, code review, testing, load testing, launch, and performance measurement.
- Translate product requirements into well-defined technical implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of related work experience.
- Strong code design and architectural skills.
- API design experience, including authoring contracts and providing stakeholder feedback.
- Strong Java server-side programming experience.
- Experience working at scale with high requests-per-second throughput.
- Familiarity with SQL.
- Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork, and analytical skills.
- Commitment to test automation and CI/CD with a quality-first approach.
- Preferred experience with AI tooling such as Claude Code or Cursor, Spinnaker, Kubernetes, Spring WebFlux or reactive Java programming, GraphQL, gRPC, AWS, and Terraform.
