Lead Solutions Architect - Generative AI (EMEA Emerging DNB)

Responsibilities
- Serve as the deep technical authority on Generative AI, LLMs, and applied machine learning for strategic EMEA Emerging DNB customer engagements.
- Partner with Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers, and Account teams to design and de-risk RAG, agentic, fine-tuning, and evaluation use cases.
- Build hands-on proofs of concept and production-quality reference implementations for large-scale LLM and deep learning workloads on Databricks.
- Lead fine-tuning and model-customization engagements on open LLMs, including judge-based and label-efficient evaluation approaches.
- Channel customer and field feedback to Product and Engineering and communicate product roadmaps back to the field.
- Mentor and enable the EMEA Emerging DNB Field Engineering organization through workshops, reference architectures, and internal training.
- Represent Databricks through conference talks, blogs, customer executive briefings, and other technical thought leadership.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of proprietary and open-source LLMs, providers, capabilities, trade-offs, and use-case suitability.
- Deep expertise in GenAI application patterns, fine-tuning, model customization, prompt and evaluation engineering, and LLM safety and guardrails.
- Strong foundations in machine learning and deep learning, including distributed training, GPU workloads, and the MLOps lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem, including PyTorch, Transformers, MLflow, and Spark.
- Experience with Databricks or the ability to ramp quickly, including Mosaic AI, Model Serving, Vector Search, and Unity Catalog.
- Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent communication and consultative skills with both technical practitioners and senior executives.
- Track record of technical leadership and mentorship, with the ability to elevate other engineers.
- Ability to work at the pace of digital-native and high-growth customers.
- Must be based in the United Kingdom, able to work across EMEA time zones, and willing to travel to regional customer sites.
- Experience helping digital-native customers build data and ML solutions is a strong plus.
- Public technical presence, regulated-industry experience, and experience influencing Product and Engineering roadmaps are nice-to-have qualifications.
