Responsibilities
- Build and evolve fast, reliable, maintainable backend services and APIs.
- Take features from initial concept through production, measurement, and iteration.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and write clear technical proposals.
- Monitor services, respond to incidents, and improve system resilience.
- Review code, share knowledge, and help other engineers grow.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to turn needs into technical solutions and explain trade-offs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems in Kotlin, Java, or Ruby.
- Strong foundations in API design, relational databases, and data modeling, including maintaining data consistency at scale.
- Hands-on experience running production services, debugging, investigating incidents, and improving resilience.
- Experience in a startup, fintech, payroll, payments, or banking environment is a strong plus, especially regulated products.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities.
- Curiosity about AI and practical experience using it, including building LLM-powered features or using AI tools productively.
