Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evolve the core agent harness powering Perplexity’s flagship answer experience.
- Improve single- and multi-agent orchestration, context management, performance, and reliability.
- Translate user needs and quantitative insights into agent improvements.
- Build excellent observability and rigorous evaluation systems for reliable agents at global scale.
- Improve developer experience so failures are easy to reproduce and fix autonomously.
- Support training and evaluation of new models through production feedback loops.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience building and shipping large-scale AI systems and services with high reliability, availability, and performance.
- Strong software engineering skills with emphasis on developer experience and future-proof system design.
- Proficiency with Python.
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Rust and cloud infrastructure experience, including AWS and Kubernetes, are bonuses.
