Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and technical direction of low-latency trading APIs for order entry, market-data distribution, and account-state updates.
- Design and implement structured concurrency with Tokio, including task lifecycles, cancellation, backpressure, and graceful degradation.
- Develop real-time ingestion pipelines for append-only trade, order-update, and order-book-diff logs.
- Efficiently rebuild local state using snapshots and diff application.
- Model orders, fills, trades, positions, funding, and liquidation logic.
- Implement WebSocket upgrades, frame parsing, connection handling, and subscribed-client data fanout.
- Design observable backend systems with metrics, structured logging, and distributed tracing.
- Collaborate with systems and infrastructure engineers to improve performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Write unit, integration, and load tests for production stability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional backend engineering experience, including at least 3 years of Rust in production.
- Strong experience with the Tokio async runtime, concurrent programming, structured concurrency, and task cancellation.
- Hands-on experience with HTTP and WebSocket frameworks such as Hyper or similar.
- Solid understanding of CEX and DEX systems, trading models, and trading data entities such as orders, trades, positions, funding, margin, and liquidation logic.
- Prior hands-on trading or market data experience, either personal or professional.
- Expertise in real-time data streaming and processing, snapshot-and-diff state reconstruction, replay, recovery, and correctness guarantees in event-driven systems.
- Understanding of WebSocket connection upgrades, frame parsing, and data fanout.
- Production experience with metrics, logging, tracing, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience diagnosing performance bottlenecks and production incidents.
- Bonus: experience with lock-free or lock-avoidant data structures, cache-friendly data layouts, memory-locality optimization, CPU and memory profiling, Docker-based environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
