Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, UX, data, QA, project management, design, and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Plan work estimation and forecasting and promote effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack software applications.
- Lead delivery across Python and FastAPI backend services, TypeScript and React frontend applications, and AWS infrastructure deployed with Terraform and GitHub Actions.
- Architect integrations and investigate and resolve development, design, performance, and production issues.
- Write reusable, clear, testable code and prepare technical documentation, design evaluations, and test results.
- Implement unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing as appropriate.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborative programming while establishing and enforcing development practices and quality gates.
- Manage and mentor software engineers and lead teams toward company goals.
- Direct AI coding agents such as Cursor and Claude while owning code quality and deciding when to trust, verify, or override their output.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science and 5+ years of experience with web technology stacks and web standards, or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or an equivalent degree and 7+ years of experience.
- Proven experience managing software development teams, architecting complex technical solutions, and leading in Agile environments.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Strong expertise in JavaScript, including 7+ years of experience with advanced client-side and server-side development principles.
- At least 5 years of React.js experience building performant UI components with modern hooks and design patterns.
- Strong command of semantic HTML, modern CSS, accessibility, SEO, and responsive design principles.
- Proficiency with Next.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL for robust frontend solutions.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, package managers, debugging, and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Demonstrated daily use of AI coding agents and sound judgment regarding their generated output.
- Experience setting and enforcing CI quality gates across multiple repositories, including type checking, linting, formatting, testing, and builds.
- Preferred experience with headless CMS, e-commerce, A/B testing, backend development, high-traffic websites, content delivery networks, cloud platforms, third-party frontend integrations, and data analytics.
