Base Salary
$108.6 - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical workstream from project inception through launch, including implementation plans, technical stories, sequencing, estimates, dependencies, risks, and definitions of done.
- Build production-quality AEM website components and blocks using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Java, and AEM code.
- Establish coding standards and patterns for components, Universal Editor models, Sling Models, OSGi services, servlets, schedulers, workflows, testing, logging, and configuration.
- Review pull requests, pair with engineers, mentor P2 engineers, lead smaller delivery teams, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Partner with QA and DevOps on automated testing, build gates, security, accessibility, performance, observability, and deployment readiness.
- Define API contracts, payloads, retries, timeouts, authentication, failure handling, and ownership across AEM and external systems.
- Investigate defects, environment issues, build failures, and performance problems and unblock delivery decisions.
- Lead technical workshops, presentations, demos, and day-to-day communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Support development, UAT, hardening, launch, and hypercare activities.
- Improve delivery practices through reusable patterns, documentation, craft sessions, estimates, templates, and GenAI productivity tools.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with proven success leading technical delivery for engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting production AEM-based websites or digital platforms.
- Strong consulting, communication, leadership, and technical tradeoff communication skills.
- Full-stack technical depth with practical Java experience and strong HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with GenAI development tools such as Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Codex, plus an understanding of core LLM concepts.
- Experience leading CMS website projects and guiding engineers while partnering with a CMS Architect.
- Experience designing, integrating, and maintaining external APIs, microservices, data sources, and distributed systems.
- Understanding of secure authentication, retries, resilient error handling, frontend rendering performance, testing, accessibility, security, performance, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of responsive web design, mobile-first delivery, cross-browser compatibility, Core Web Vitals, accessibility standards, and SEO-aware frontend architecture.
- Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, diagnose root causes, and make targeted improvements.
- Helpful qualifications include AEM internals and ecosystem experience, Adobe Commerce, Adobe App Builder, API Mesh, Workfront, Analytics integrations, mentoring, distributed or cross-functional team leadership, and Adobe certification or equivalent production experience.
