Base Salary

$140k - $200k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend services/APIs in Python/Django with Postgres/Redis.
Own outcomes by refining scope and suggesting trade-offs.
Model data and manage background jobs for high-volume workflows.
Evolve API contracts and maintain clear interfaces.
Improve reliability and performance of services.
Implement secure, multi-tenant patterns for data management.
Contribute to testing strategy and error handling.
Investigate production issues with the support team.
Engage with the open-source community to enhance developer experience.
Participate in architecture discussions and mentor teammates.

Senior-level experience shipping production backends in Python/Django and SQL.
Strong product sense with experience in scope and trade-off decisions.
Depth in REST API design, relational modeling, and performance tuning.
Experience with background processing and operational concerns.
Clear written communication skills at a Senior IC level.
Nice to have: familiarity with GraphQL, Kafka, Spark, and multi-region architectures.
