Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize cloud and data infrastructure for high availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement SRE practices including monitoring, alerting, error budgets, and fault analysis.
- Collaborate with development, product, customer, and security teams to create secure and scalable solutions and improve operational efficiency through automation.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analyses, conduct postmortem reviews, and optimize performance.
- Lead architectural vision, technical strategy, and roadmap development while balancing immediate and long-term objectives.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership that promotes engineering and operational excellence.
- Engage customers and stakeholders, translate use cases and feedback into actionable insights, and influence technical decisions.
- Build core data platform capabilities and automation and develop infrastructure and processes for enterprise-scale software deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 8–14+ years of related experience.
- Extensive practical experience with areas including Linux, public cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, networking, security, systems administration, software development, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on cloud experience, preferably with AWS.
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills, ideally with Terraform and EKS or Kubernetes.
- Experience with Splunk, Prometheus and Alertmanager, Grafana, Thanos, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and ELK observability tooling.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, the kernel, system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols.
- Experience building or managing cloud-based data platforms, infrastructure automation and orchestration, and highly available systems at scale.
- Ability to write high-quality code in Python, Go, or equivalent languages.
- Experience architecting software and infrastructure at scale with ownership and accountability.
- Preferred certifications include CKA, CKAD, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent cloud and security certifications.
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, prioritization, learning, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
