Responsibilities

Architect, build, and test Gusto’s product suite.
Mentor other engineers to solve complex technical problems.
Help scale one of the largest Ruby/Rails and Javascript/React applications.
Collaborate with Product Management and Design teams to prototype and launch solutions.
Build products that customers genuinely love.

8+ years of software development experience.
Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable customer impact.
Ability to build scalable solutions that eliminate customer pain.
Effective communication skills across engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Experience or interest in Ruby on Rails.
Ability to mentor engineers for performance maximization.
Experience with large scale refactors and performance issues.
Passion for creating memorable customer experiences.
Appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven environment.
Ability to write well-structured, maintainable, and documented code.
