Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy machine learning models for text classification, entity extraction, clustering, narrative detection, and topic detection.
- Build LLM-powered features involving prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows.
- Develop embedding and semantic-search pipelines to group related content and identify emerging threats.
- Productionize models as scalable, monitored services with latency, cost, and accuracy targets.
- Build evaluation frameworks and datasets to measure model quality, bias, and drift.
- Collaborate with data engineers to improve ingestion, labeling, and feature pipelines for high-volume, noisy, multilingual text data.
- Monitor and retrain production models and debug quality issues end to end.
- Document technical approaches and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face Transformers.
- Practical NLP experience with areas such as classification, named entity recognition, topic modeling, or semantic similarity.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation, using OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
- Experience with embeddings and vector search technologies such as pgvector, Pinecone, OpenSearch, or FAISS.
- Experience deploying and operating ML services on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Docker and CI/CD.
- Understanding of model evaluation metrics, test sets, error analysis, and production monitoring.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Preferred experience includes trust and safety, threat intelligence, disinformation research, social media data, agentic AI systems, multilingual NLP, MLOps tooling, streaming or large-scale data processing, and LLM fine-tuning or model distillation.
