Responsibilities
- Support availability, latency, performance, reliability, observability, incident response, capacity planning, SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and operational dashboards for production and pre-production environments.
- Troubleshoot deployment reliability, customer environment, platform stability, service uptime, permissions, networking, secrets, identity, and configuration issues.
- Operate and maintain highly available Azure-hosted SaaS and data platform production environments, including 24x7 support.
- Support automated releases, hotfixes, customer deployments, environment promotions, deployment approvals, and release readiness activities.
- Improve CI/CD and release automation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, YAML pipelines, Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and release pipelines.
- Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Helm, Kubernetes manifests, and related tools.
- Support AKS, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, service accounts, GitOps deployment patterns, Flux, Argo CD, and environment configuration.
- Support Azure Key Vault, RBAC, service principals, identities, permissions, access policies, CI/CD secrets, and customer tenant configuration.
- Perform incident management, emergency response, service restoration, change and problem management, root cause analysis, and outage response.
- Triage SRE support requests, Web Support escalations, and customer deployment issues, resolving issues directly or routing them to internal teams.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, README files, runbooks, deployment instructions, troubleshooting procedures, and support guides.
- Improve observability, operational readiness, system availability, performance, capacity analysis, and deployment consistency through automation and process improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, QA, designers, delivery, security, cloud engineering, operations, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and support after-hours or time-zone-aligned deployment windows when required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Operations Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar in SaaS or cloud production environments.
- Strong experience supporting highly available 24x7 SaaS, product, or cloud service provider platforms.
- Strong Azure infrastructure experience, including Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Key Vault, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Storage Accounts, service principals, RBAC, networking, Azure PaaS, and Azure IaaS.
- Practical Terraform experience covering infrastructure automation, state troubleshooting, resource drift, deployment failures, environment configuration, and provisioning.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools and templates such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Helm, or similar technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD and release automation using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, YAML pipelines, Git, pull requests, branching strategies, release pipelines, and deployment approvals.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, containerized architectures, AKS operations, service accounts, container deployment patterns, and cluster troubleshooting.
- Experience with GitOps approaches using Flux, Argo CD, or similar technologies.
- Experience supporting customer deployments, hotfixes, environment promotions, QA and staging releases, production upgrades, and release coordination.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and APM tools such as Datadog, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Elastic, Sentry, Dynatrace, New Relic, Nagios, or Zabbix.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex deployment, permissions, networking, secrets, RBAC, identity, configuration, and environment issues across unfamiliar technical environments.
- Working knowledge of Bash, Python, PowerShell, Go, or similar scripting and automation tools.
- Strong command of Git source control and a strong understanding of Linux, Windows, software development, systems, networking, cloud concepts, and operational support models.
- Familiarity with cloud networking elements including VNets, peering, firewalls, private endpoints, private DNS zones, NAT, and service endpoints.
- Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, support procedures, and README files.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to execute independently and escalate production-risk or security-sensitive decisions appropriately.
- Preferred experience includes Azure Databricks, Data Factory, data platforms, Data Lake ACLs, Synapse, Spark, Unity Catalog, Databricks automation, Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365, MLflow, MLOps, AI platform deployment, DACPACs, SSO, federated security, and enterprise authentication.
- Preferred familiarity includes Docker operations, REST APIs, SaaS deployment APIs, Flux, Argo CD, Helm charts, Terraform controllers, unit testing and mocking frameworks, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Optional certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, and Certified Kubernetes Administrator.
